Gergrova received Albanian passport, and if he joined Juventus, he would not occupy non-European places

Lille winger Jegrova confirmed that he had obtained an Albanian passport, which means that if he joins Juventus before the summer transfer window is closed, he will not occupy valuable non-EU players.

Juventus has been actively promoting the transfer of the 26-year-old Kosovo international throughout August. Last week, reports were reported that the Zebra Legion had agreed with Gergrova on personal terms.

Gerrova then hinted at the news of a possible joining Juventus on social media, including a likes Kenan Ilditz's recent Instagram post. Gergrova also posted another clue on social media, revealing that he has obtained Albanian nationality, meaning that he is no longer considered a non-EU player under Serie A rules.

Serie A changed the rules regarding non-EU player registration at the beginning of the 2024-25 season. It is worth noting that the new regulations recognize Albanians as EU players.

On Tuesday, Gergrova shared a WhatsApp conversation with Albanian President Eddie Rama in his Instagram story, showing that he had obtained Albanian nationality. Interestingly, Rama is a loyal supporter of Juventus.

"Pride to be an Albanian," Gerrova wrote in his latest Instagram story. The 26-year-old has Kosovo-Albanian descent through his parents.
