34-year-old Haume Domeneck announced the end of his professional career this Monday. He rejected multiple invitations from abroad. The main reason for his retirement was that his family members were in poor health.

A few days ago, Domeneck admitted in an interview with El Larguero on Serb Radio that he firmly believed that Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia had all the qualities to be selected for the Spanish national team.

Domeneke said: "At this stage, the three goalkeepers in the national team (Unai Simon, Raya and Remiro) performed stably, and the coach believes that there is no need to adjust. However, Joan Garcia performed phenomenally last season. I think he will be selected for the national team sooner or later, but it is not advisable to be too hasty. Just like the natural replacements in the past, these goalkeepers are performing well. Unnai Simon may not be as amazing as other goalkeepers, but it is rare to have a comprehensive goalkeeper like him."
